It’s getting real close to that time. 2.0 is right around the corner and you might be looking for that Legacy status icon to pop up in the corner of your screen. If you were planning on using the 90 day subscription option in order accumulate the 90 days subscription time needed to qualify for Legacy, you should do it in a hurry.
At the end of this year’s Vanafest 2012, a festival to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Japanese launch of Final Fantasy XI, Hiromichi Tanaka announced that he was stepping down as director of the game and leaving Square-Enix due to health concerns. His departure comes at a time where a new expansion has just been announced for Final Fantasy XI, called Seekers of Adoulin, and at the time of the announcement, it was revealed that current FFXIV Battle Planner, Akihiko Matsui would be taking his place.
Yelta is hosting today and she narrowly avoids the jaws of the ravenous Calaera. We had to skip an episode last week, but we’re trying hard to make it up to you this week, with a full episode and a super long after show to be released later this week. In this episode? The change to grab Legacy status is running out and Goobbues are going away, but we got a brand spanking new Letter From the Producer. Obvious joke is obvious, so we’re avoiding it this time around. This letter has Yoshida reminiscing about the 24 interviews he attended during E3. We can’t tell if he’s bragging or crying for help. In any case, he provides the upcoming patch update schedule, and reminds us that the Patch 1.23 series of patches will be the last before wrapping up the 1.0 version of the game. Patch 1.22c seems to be mostly about supporting the Relic Weapon quest. The concluding part of “A Relic Reborn” has been added, new treasure chests have been added to Darkhold, an even more difficult Ifrit Fight has been added for the most hardcore of players, and a number of additional things as well. Beyond the Relic Weapon quest, you can expect to see a new Grand Company Rank made available, and new items have been added to the game. Check out the patch notes inside to find out more.
A number of new level 50 weapons and armor have been added for Grand Company Seal exchange. It’s doubtful that these additions will rival the power of Relic Weapons, but are any of these new items on par with the current end game gear? We’ll update this post with stats for these new items as information becomes available.
Patch 1.22c brings us a a lot of new items and almost all of them are either new Relic Weapons, or items that have something to do with the new Relic Weapons. See the list for yourself and keep checking back for stat information for the new relic weapons.
