A quick glance at the clock this morning made me excited. Why? We are close to August, which means we will be close to September, and before we know it the XIV servers will be down for X|V testing and data transfer. It made me feel giddy with excitement and then not so giddy with excitement when I came to remember: I won’t have anything to play with my friends for x number of months. Ouch. On my own, I have several games to play: many DS and 3DS games, replaying Final Fantasy classics, and some PS3 games I haven’t finished. I will also be back in school hacking away at the grind and trying to commit to memory different parts of the human anatomy and physiology. MMOs, however, help bring me together with my friends and allow me to try to blow up a mob while we banter and poke each other for fun. A few friends and I have talked about returning to XI for a short amount of time to finish up loose ends such as WotG, but I may also try out GW2 or other MMOs that I have not yet tried.
Which brings me here: what are your plans for the 2.0 downtime? Anyone going back to Final Fantasy XI? WoW? Tera? SWToR? Trying out GW2? Or are you crossing your fingers and toes that you get into the beta? I know I will, but I won’t hold my breath on it either!
