SE Still On Track To Present FFXIV At Gamescom Zantetsuken | A FFXIV Fansite

If you were waiting for the in-game footage of FFXIV during Gamescom this year, not to worry. SquareEnix hasn’t forgotten about us. As a reminder to players, they’ve posted an announcement on the Lodestone, stating that FFXIV Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida will be attending Gamescom 2012 in Cologne, Germany from Thursday, August 16th to Sunday, August 19th. He’s expected to give a number of presentations during the event, including “a world-first gameplay demonstration” of the 2.0 version of FFXIV, otherwise known as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

In addition to this, fans will get a chance to attend a special autograph signing session on the 17th and 18th. In order to get access to this event, you’ll have to send an email to ffxivautograph@square-enix.com with your preferred day in the subject heading.

Although not specifically mentioned as a part of the Gamescom presentation, Yoshida did say in his most recent letter that fans can expect much in the way of in-game footage in the near future. Among the things promised were:

  • Introducing some of the new content and features
  • Walkthroughs in some of the zones
  • Overhauled combat and Battle Regimen systems

All of this will be gradually fed to the fans as a part of A Realm Reborn’s marketing campaign leading up to release of the game. Keep your eyes peeled for Thursday, August 16, when we can expect to start to see some of this information trickle in.
