The upcoming PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV will have it’s own separate interface, created from scratch from the ground up, according to the latest issue of Famitsu Magazine. This special console-only UI has been labeled the “Cross Hot Bar”, based on early reports. There aren’t any specifics on this interface just yet, but the issue of Famitsu Magazine in question contains a Staff Q&A focused on the developers of FFXIV, so more information should be provided soon. Although we don’t know anything just yet, the parallel between the name Cross Hot Bar and the XrossMediaBar for PS3 seems uncanny. Could we be seeing something similar to PS3′s older media interface?

For those of you still waiting patiently for more news about the PS3 version of the game, Yoshida already commented during E3 that the PS3 version was 50% complete. He also suggested that we should get a look of the console version sometime this summer. So you won’t have to wait long to find out about the Cross Hot Bar and other features for the PS3 version of the game.
